Trust Governance

The MachenTagar Free Press operates as an irrevocable public trust. No owner. No paywall. No ads. No exceptions.

I. The MachenTagar Free Press Public Trust is irrevocable. Once established, it cannot be undone.
II. Editorial decisions are made by an independent editorial board, not by MachenTagar management, not by any funder, not by any government.
III. The Trust cannot be sold, dissolved, or monetized. It exists to serve the public record. Period.
IV. Funded by MachenTagar institutional revenue under the Banting Principle (SO45). Institutions pay for MachenTagar services so people never have to pay for public goods.
V. Free to use. Always. No paywall. No subscription. No advertising. No data harvesting. No exceptions.
VI. All submitted content enters the permanent public record and is treated as public domain documentation.
VII. The Trust will maintain archives in perpetuity. Nothing is deleted from the public record absent legal compulsion and board review.
Editorial Guidelines
Accuracy first. Every report must be based on verifiable facts, first-hand observation, or credible sourced material.
Corrections published. Errors are corrected publicly with full transparency. No silent edits.
No editorial slant. Wire reports are factual. Opinion is labelled as opinion. Analysis is labelled as analysis.
Source protection. The Trust will resist any order to reveal confidential sources to the fullest extent of law.
Multi-language. Reports may be filed in any language. Translation is provided where resources allow.
No gatekeeping. Any person may file a report. Credibility is assessed post-publication by the editorial board, not pre-publication by editors.
Contributor Code of Conduct
Document, don't narc. Public events only. No private surveillance. No hidden camera material from private spaces.
Protect the vulnerable. Blur faces of bystanders, minors, and anyone who could face retaliation. Err on the side of caution.
No doxxing. Do not publish private addresses, phone numbers, or personal information of private individuals.
No fabrication. Do not stage events, manufacture evidence, or misrepresent context. The archive is only as strong as its integrity.
No hate content. Documentation of hate speech in the public record is acceptable. Advocacy of hate is not.
Good faith. Contribute in good faith. The archive is for everyone. Act like it.

Trust Board

Trust Board appointments are pending. The inaugural board will consist of journalists, civil liberties advocates, and community representatives. No MachenTagar employees. No funders. No government representatives.
